February & March In Review

Throughout the month of February and March, aside from the ministry opportunities, projects, and progress, we also faced many difficult trials and tribulations. There were moments when we thought about giving up...moments when we felt we could not take anymore. But Praise God He listens. Praise God that He knows our needs, answers our prayers, and carries us through when we can walk no further.

I cannot count the number of times I just sobbed before Him for hours or the number of rolls of tissue I used in doing so. But besides fulfilling the Lord’s will, the thing that kept us here was these wonderful people, both missionary and Mozambican. We have grown so close to our Mozambican brothers and sisters. They have truly become family. We had to push through for them. I wish I could share things in more detail about what has taken place here, since overcoming trials is the heart of true testimony, but at this time I cannot. Maybe someday soon I can share what my heart so longs to share.

I can say, though, that throughout this process I’ve seen God work through us in mighty ways…humbling us, teaching us patience and love for others. I’ve seen my husband, Jason, shine with the leadership abilities God gave him. I’ve seen myself reach beyond my comfort zone into a place of confidence and authority in Christ. We’ve seen a transformation take place in our Mozambican leaders on this base—an amazing transformation from timidity and feelings of unworthiness and lack of self-confidence to a position of Godly boldness, self-worth and confidence. We’ve tried so hard to lift them up, encourage them, empower them, and create an environment of equality. We’ve been so blessed to see the immediate fruit of our labors.

We thank you so much for both your prayer support and financial support. Please continue to pray for us, the other missionaries, our Mozambican leaders, pastors, and workers, and the work of this ministry.
